Teaching Middle and High School Students to Comprehend Content Reading

The Key Three Routine is a research-based comprehension and study strategies program for grades 4 through 12, emphasizing comprehension strategy instruction that is embedded in the content classroom and uses existing content readingmaterial. This two-day workshop provides the initial training for teachers who want to use the program as well as special educators, reading teachers and administrators.

 Promoting Instructional Practices for Student Improvement, Grades Four through Twelve

The NHREADS/NHDOE Summer Institute on Content Area Comprehension recognizes the important role that teachers of content area subjects have in helping students understand increasingly difficult text material.

Participants will have the opportunity to find out why reading strategies for content area comprehension are important, what types of strategies are the most effective, how the strategies can be applied in each core content area, and how everyone can support this effort.
